Ingredients

Sugar, Dried Egg White Powder, Cream of Tartar, Corn Starch, Vanilla Flavor
Directions

A. Use a glass or metal bowl. Very clean and dry. No oil residue.
B. Basic Recipe: Combine ½ cup water and 1 cup of mix.
C. Whip using countertop mixer with whisk attachment for 9-12 minutes until there are stiff peaks. Scrape bowl as needed, do not overbeat. Stop at stiff peaks.

Royal Icing Recipe

The ABCs of Making Meringue
A. Use a glass or metal bowl. Ensure it is very clean and dry with no oil residue.
B. Basic Recipe: Combine 1/2 cup water and 1 cup mix
C. Whip using countertop mixer with whisk attachment for 9-12 minutes until there are stiff peaks. Scrape bowl as needed, do not overbeat. Stop at stiff peaks.

Directions:

  1. Follow ABCs of meringue above.
  2. Gradually add 16 oz (3 cups) of powdered sugar. Mix on low just until incorporated (this prevents air bubbles), then use a spoon to continue mixing.
  3. Add water 1 tsp at a time until the desired thickness for icing has been reached.

    Taste

    I wanted to love this so much because it had such great reviews for the way it dries. Mine smelled like mothballs but I thought maybe it was just the smell so I made it anyway and it tasted like mothballs as well. It was stored in my pantry sealed in the packaging it arrived in. It could totally just be my taste buds like sometimes people think meringue tastes like soap. It mixed beautifully and was super smooth.
