Halloween Spooky Buns
Make these Halloween Spooky Buns using our All Purpose Gluten Free Bread Flour Mix and Meringue Mix for decorating!
3 cups Judee's All Purpose Gluten Free Bread Flour Mix
1.5 cups lukewarm water
3 tbsp melted butter
2 tbp yeast
1/2 cup Judee's Meringue Mix
1/4 cup water
1.5 cup powdered sugar
To a mixing bowl, add lukewarm water, melted butter, and yeast
Mix them together and gradually add bread flour mix
Let dough rise for 30-45 minutes and shape them into buns. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Bake for about 35-40 minutes. When done baking and cooled, score the side of the buns to make a mouth to fill the jam.
Make the Royal Icing:
Whip water and Meringue mix using a countertop mixer with a whisk attachment.
This will be done for 9-12 minutes (until there are no stiff peaks). While is whips, scrape the bowl as needed and avoid overbeating and stop when you get stiff peaks.
Gradually mix in powdered sugar on low until incorporated
Add in a tsp of water at a time, using a spoon to mix it in, until you've gotten the royal icing texture you desire (needs may change based on what you're using it for).
Add in black food coloring and get creative on the faces!
